As an Operations & Maintenance O&M Field Engineer – PV & ESS you will hold a strategic and operational role, with full accountability for the execution, performance, and profitability of Sungrow’s O&M business across Spain, Italy, and Portugal, covering both PV and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) assets.
You will be involved directly in site operations while also supporting analysis, reporting, and coordination activities related to warranty and SLA/LTSA contracts. The position is based in Madrid, with approximately 40% travel across the region.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform and support on-site preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on PV and ESS assets.
• Act as a technical reference for troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), including SCADA data interpretation and equipment log analysis.
• Travel to project sites and vendor locations as required to support inspections, repairs, commissioning support, and critical interventions.
• Ensure all O&M activities comply with OEM requirements, warranty conditions, and local Health & Safety regulations.
• Act as a technical interface with customers during warranty and O&M phases, supporting discussions on failures, corrective actions, and performance issues.
• Support contract execution by identifying technical risks, warranty obligations, and improvement opportunities derived from field activities.
• Supervise and coordinate Service Partners and subcontractors, ensuring quality of execution, safety compliance, and alignment with Sungrow standards.
• Monitor and manage spare parts and spare units stock on site (safety stock definition, usage tracking, and refill strategy).
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of site activities, failures, work orders, and materials used, ensuring full traceability.
• Coordinate with internal departments (Projects, Engineering, Sales, HQ) to ensure proper handover from execution to O&M and ongoing technical support.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of technical procedures, reporting tools, and fleet reliability through field feedback and data analysis.
