Job Summary:
The Data Protection Officer (DPO) will oversee the implementation of data protection strategies to ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection laws. The DPO will serve as the point of contact between the company and any Supervisory Authorities that oversee activities related to data.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations for cross-border data transfers related to Sungrow Europe’s business. Serve as the contact point for Supervisory Authorities, including prior consultations under the GDPR.
2. Ensure all European subsidiaries comply with harmonized GDPR-aligned data protection policies. Collaborate globally to align European standards with other regions (e.g., U.S., Asia).
3. Enforce data minimisation principles by ensuring only essential personal data is collected and processed. Serve as the contact for individuals regarding their data rights under GDPR.
4. Act as the primary liaison with supervisory authorities, coordinating all communication and reporting.
5. Respond promptly to data breaches, coordinating mitigation with authorities and affected individuals.
6. Collaborate with legal teams to review and update Sungrow Europe’s privacy documents, including site policies, cookies, and user agreements.
7. Support the iSolarCloud compliance project and overseas data transfer initiatives by reviewing documents, issuing guidelines, and coordinating OA workflows.
8. Publish country-specific privacy policies and update employee privacy clauses in handbooks and contracts.
9. Ensure technical safeguards (encryption, access control) are in place to protect personal data.
10. Conduct regular employee training and internal audits to maintain and monitor data protection compliance across all branches.
